So it’s February and you’ve looked in your closet and realized you have no idea what you want to wear for the approaching Valentine’s Day. You might be going to stay with a friend for the weekend, going on a romantic date, going out to a club or party, or simply spending time with your family – but whatever the occasion you’ll want to find a way to be festive, wear a lot of pink and red, and have fun!

1. Date Night Out

For this look, you can go super cutesy and girly. Instead of taking off one accessory before you leave the house feel free to pile on more and really have fun with your look. Lace is always a good bet, in reds and pinks, and your shoes or jacket can add an extra bit of edge. You can add different textures like velvet, floral prints, and repeating petal patterns in your accessories as well. Whether you plan on showing them off or not, lingerie can be a fun way to feel sexy on Valentine’s Day and can give you an extra bit of confidence in your walk to meet your darling significant other.

2. Girl’s Night In

If you want to just stay in with your friends and talk about your crushes, gossip about your enemies, or just watch a lot of cheesy movies then this would be the best look for you. Grab your favorite pair of girly pajama bottoms, leggings, or boxer shorts and a comfy sweatshirt reflecting your current relationship status or lack thereof. Add in your favorite movies like Clueless, Pretty in Pink, Mean Girls or maybe even something completely different like a horror movie or two and lots of chocolate and candy and have a fun night of eating, pampering and catching up.

3. Date Night In

You and your significant other may not want to brave the crowds on Valentine’s Day and instead want to just get cozy on the couch at home. If that’s what you decide but you still want to have a little fun with your outfit, then then think about going for some cheesy couple’s shirts with sayings like “you’re the salt to my pepper” or “the peanut to my jelly” and either make them yourself or find them online. Then, add your most comfy and cute sweatpants and underwear combo, pop in a good movie, break out the junk food, and enjoy knowing you don’t have to elbow another couple for a table and can just enjoy each other’s company in privacy.

4. Going out Dancing

If you’re looking to go out to a frat party, an 18+ dance club, or a bar and have some fun on Valentine’s Day showing off your moves, then you’re going to want the perfect dress for the occasion. You’ll want to find a dress or romper that is comfy enough that you won’t bust a seam while dancing but tight enough that it shows off your curves and lets you feel sexy while you’re checking out that cutie across the room. You can really go all out with your makeup here with red lips, bright nails, a touch of blush, and whatever else you feel like rocking. Then add some fun accessories to tie in to your look, and don’t forget to grab your pre-dancing food and beverages on your way and have some fun!

5. Spending Time with Your Family

So maybe you’re in between friend groups, all your friends have boyfriends, your best friend is out of town, or you can’t afford to pay a visit your long distance beau but your family lives nearby. If you want to just spend a night in with your parents and younger siblings, try for a cute look that is appropriate and fun. Wear your silly shirts, slippers, and sweatpants, take a nice shower at home (especially if you live in the dorms), make a fun snack with your mom, dad, little brother or sister, and settle in for some family friendly Valentine’s movies like Wall-E or Gnomeo and Juliet.

I hope this gave you some great ideas for Valentine’s Day looks no matter what the occasion. Comment below what you’re thinking about wearing on the big day!
