It’s not that Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday hold nothing good, but it’s just that the weekend is not yet in the horizon. Sometimes all that you need is a little something to get you over the hump! It’s like studying for a test… After you complete each paragraph you are required to read, you have a tasty treat waiting for you before you start the next one. Pencil in these fun ways to relax and unwind, and there you go, you have something to look forward to at the end of the day!

Monday Madness

Mondays totally suck! Even if you slave away on homework the day before, it’s impossible to get ahead. Something that may help prepare you for the week ahead is to pamper yourself. I’m talking facemasks! Clay and mud are the best and  can help get your skin ready for the madness that the week will bring. You can buy them pre-made, or if you want the challenge, make one yourself (it isn’t as hard as you might think!). Try this…

¼ Cup Plain Yogurt

2 Tbsps. Honey

1 Medium Banana

Let it sit for 10-20 minutes, and then rinse it off with cold water. It will leave your skin feeling awesome!

Tasty Tuesday

Sometimes stress can dissipate with a little comfort food, and I know the perfect recipe! There is nothing better than cheesy garlic bread, but instead of the classic dough, replace it with quinoa (it’s all the rave recently!) for a healthier version. It’s excellent and you don’t feel so bad afterwards. Here is how you do it:  http://thewholesomedish.com/quinoa-crust-pizza-cheesy-garlic-bread/

Workout Wednesday

Many girls hit the gym on Wednesdays for “leg day,” but if weights aren’t your style, then yoga can be done at home. There are also tons of exercises that you can find online, so type in your target area and get to work! Even if you don’t enjoy it at the moment, you will thank yourself later.

Thirsty Thursday (Just for the heck of it!)

For many of you, Thursdays can prove to be just as draining as Mondays. Depending on your class schedule, Tuesdays and Thursdays are typically filled with longer classes (and I mean anything longer than 50 minutes). So what better way to de-stress than an awesome drink with your roomies? Here is a quick mixer that will be sure to please. Before you know it, the stressful events of the day will be as if they never happened.

Amaretto Sour

3 oz. Amaretto

2 oz. Sweet & Sour Mix

7 UP

Maraschino Cherries & Orange Wedges (Optional)

The ingredients don’t need to be exact, and it’s usually easier to judge by taste. Depending on the stress level, you may want something a little stronger!

Hey Ya'll! Here at James Madison University I'm majoring in Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication and minoring in Family Studies. I'm just a student writing my way through college, and when I'm not busy doing that, I have my nose in a book. I couldn't make it through a day without Country music, and I love the OBX (it's Heaven on earth!).
