Meet Megan and Ian! Many freshmen would recognize Megan because she is a Resident Assistant on campus in Georgia Hall. Ian can often be found in a camo baseball cap and boots going to class around campus. Megan and Ian have been dating for eight months, and enjoy going on weekend adventures to local attractions in Valdosta and the surrounding areas. Luckily, I was able to catch both Megan and Ian for an interview! Get the details below!

HC: Where did the two of you first meet?

Megan: We first met at Relay for Life on campus in 2014.

Ian: It was Megan’s birthday and I was the first one to say happy birthday to her!

HC: What are three things you love most about each other?

Megan: I love the way he continues to guide me in Christ, his smile, and how he continuously shows how much he loves me.

Ian: I love Megan’s relationship with Christ, the way she treats me, and how well she loves my friends and family.

HC: What is the funniest moment to ever happen between you two?

Ian: One of the funniest moments we have ever had with each other was after our first date over the summer and I had asked Megan to be my girlfriend. We had decided to wait until the next day to make it “ Facebook Official.” As I was getting ready to leave I took a picture of us together and sent it to one of my best friends, Antoine, to tell him the good news.

It shouldn’t have surprised me when we both got a notification less than two minutes later stating that Antoine Adams [had tagged me] in a photo, taking it upon himself to announce our new relationship to the world! We couldn’t stop laughing at his post about how happy he was that “two very ignorant people in his life were finally dating!” Our laughter continued after he informed us that everyone knew we were going to date before we did!

HC: If you could give any advice to other couples based on your relationship, what would you say?

Megan: Enjoy the little things because sometimes those are the things that count the most. Plain and simple, just have fun. Communication, patience, and love are the three things that can get any relationship through even the roughest times.

Make sure to say hi to Ian when you see him waiting at the bus stop! Anytime you are in Georgia Hall, make sure to go to one of Megan’s programming events or stop by the front desk to say hi! You can follow Megan & Ian on Instagram here! @meganna18 + @ianhancock9
