About age:

Here we have four very different women with practically the same prerogative: to find their happiness.  No matter if you’re 15 or 50, you can still lose sight of who you are, make a fool of yourself and even get your heart broken.  Likewise, you have the opportunity to learn more about yourself every day, you have the chance to prove your worth and even fall in love for the first time.  Essentially, age is just a number and does not affect overall fabulousness.

About dating:

Basically, it sucks.  Having to tell your story over and over again is time consuming and monotonous.

The worst part:  There is absolutely no way around getting to truly know someone.  You just have to put in the time and effort.

The best part:  You get loads of practice.  This way when someone really worth your while comes around, you aren’t completely awkward.

About men:

You said it, Sam.  This is one of those can’t live with ’em, can’t live without ’em situations.  Actually, science today says we really don’t need a man there in the long run (enter sperm donor).  It’s more about the want, that is, an emotional connection.  We all want to love and be loved in that special, can’t live without you sort of way.  How do you find that?  Beats the hell out of me.  All I know is, there are many types of love and each is uniquely special.  In the meantime, we girls will undoubtedly spend an unecessary amount of time focusing on men, wanting to murder them and fall in love with them.

About sex:

No doubt Sex and the City broadened your sexual vocabulary — especially if you were watching those day-long marathons they started playing on E! when you were a tween.  Yes, it’s the 21st century and we can Google anything nowadays, but sometimes it helps to see how it all plays out without a bunch of porn ads cluttering your screen.  Plus, it was always a little scary typing sexual-esque words into Google and waiting to see what images came up.  Anyone else cover the screen with their hand in anticipation?  No?

About love:

It’s complicated and there is really no point in trying to figure it out because you never will.  Love comes in all shapes and sizes.  It’s messy, fickle, scary, honest, wonderful, it’s beauty, grace, it’s Miss United States…I’m kidding, but you get the point.  All we can really do is embrace it when it comes along and be happy while it stays.

About friendship:

Girlfriends are a godsend.  Probably the most significant relationships you will have in your life, your girlfriends are your go-to advice-givers, problem-solvers and confidence-boosters.  A true girlfriend is a person who likes you for you.  She loves you for your strengths and accepts your weaknesses.  She has no obligation to you and she receives no compensation other than the laughs and shared experiences.  In other words, she’s marvelous.
