Artist Spotlight: Ella Henderson and George Ezra

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

Instead of listening to the Top 40 for the 100th time, check out these two young, talented, and up and coming British artists who released new albums in January!

1. Chapter One – Ella Henderson

You may recognize her name from her popular single, “Ghost,” which began playing on US radio stations this summer. But until this month, “Ghost” was Ella’s only available song in the United States. Ella Henderson, only nineteen-years old, is already a British sensation after being discovered on The X Factor in 2012.Released on January 13, Chapter One will not disappoint. Paired a powerful voice and lyrics, Ella Henderson’s unique pop sound makes her the kind of artist whose songs you just can’t help but play over and over again. Ella will be going on tour with fellow UK band, Take That (check them out too!) in April.

2. Wanted On Voyage – George Ezra

He has a British accent and he sings, need I say more? George Ezra, twenty-one years old, released an EP, Did You Hear The Rain? in October 2013. His single, “Budapest,” swept European girls off their feet, making him a sensation.Released on January 27, Wanted On Voyage, is a blend of alternative rock, blues, and even a little folk. His voice is beautiful and his songs all differ from each other, each having their own unique sound. George Ezra is currently on tour with Sam Smith, and will be going on his own US tour soon, coming to California in April!
