The 2015 BRIT Awards had everyone talking last week. From Madonna’s cape fiasco (we all saw that video) to Kim Kardashian’s selfie with Ant and Dec, the ceremony had social media buzzing. As with any prestigious awards event, the BRITs also gave celebs the chance to strut down the red carpet, and for us to see their fab (or not so fab) outfits.
One woman that completely blew the crowd away was singer/songwriter FKA Twigs. She embraced her individuality with quirky yet stunning pieces, emphasising how tedious the typical ‘red carpet look’ can be.
FKA Twigs, real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett, wore an Alexander McQueen dress. The amazing cut-out detail of the upper bodice ties in with the Aztec-style pattern on the skirt due to the use of angles. The dress is slightly ‘Grecian goddess’ in silhouette, yet the colour makes it more tough, edgy and modern. Her wide leg trousers give off a 1970s vibe which is set to be a huge trend in 2015. Twigs’ jewellery is by Stephen Webster and Gismondi Jewellery.
Despite being nominated for best ‘British Female Solo Artist’ and ‘British Breakthrough Act’, Twigs didn’t go home with any awards, although she did perform at the Nominations Launch. Unique and beautiful as ever, she put the floor length gown to shame.
