Everyone has their style icon. For some it’s Marilyn Monroe, Beyonce, or Kim Kardashian, but mine has always been Carrie Bradshaw. Carrie had some pretty over-the-top outfits, and considering this it makes sense that I’m usually the girl in room with the bold, colorful, or just plain unusual outfit. I realize that most people only like Carrie’s outfits in theory; they don’t acutally care to take any style cues from her in real life, however, she actually did have some looks that are cute, casual, and easy to steal! Take a look:
The Audrey Hepburn Look. Anyone can pull off Carrie’s sophisticated updo and pearls. Especially since she’s given it a twist by adding a simple pink tank top.
The Kimono over a Slip Dress Look. Love. I actually have an old black slip that I wear all the time and I have yet to be called out for wearing lingerie in public!
The Belted Floral Dress Look. I literally own a belt just like this and am now so excited about it. This look could easily be updated with a dress that is less distinctly late 90s/early 2000s. I mean, I’m pretty sure my mom has multiple dresses this color in the back of her closet. I would probably choose a floral dress with darker colors and a smaller print. Love the hair though.
