Meet this week’s campus celebrity, Kackie Dankbar. During soccer season you can find her tearing it up on the field, but now she can be found in a local classroom student teaching. She is very involved on campus and fun to be around. Who wouldn’t want to be around  the girl whose dad started last blast?!

Graduation year: May 2015

 Year in school: Senior

Hometown: Bloomington, MN

Major/minor: Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education

Interests/hobbies: Hanging out with my roommates and friends, playing soccer, and volunteering with Special Olympics

Campus involvement: Co-Captain of St. Ambrose’s Women’s soccer team, 3 year participant in Dance Marathon, tutor at the Student Success Center, Eucharistic Minister, participating in intramural sports, Vice President of Kappa Delta Pi, and member of the study aboard trip to Italy.

Dream job and why:  I would love to be a second grade teacher because the kiddos at that age are so sweet, open-hearted, and always wanting to learn and be at school.

Plans after graduation: I am hoping to find a teaching job in the Quad Cities or the Twin Cities.

Role models: My parents! They have thought me so much about life and living it to the fullest. I would not be who I am today without them!

How did you get involved in soccer?

I got involved with soccer during my junior year of high school. I was recruited and came for a visit. I fell in love with St. Ambrose and the soccer program here and I have never regretted my decision to come here!

What is your role on the team?

I was captain of the soccer team for my junior and senior year along with my co-captain Bre Choffin.

What is your favorite part about soccer?

I love to have a group of girls that are always there for anyone when they need a friend…and winning of course :)

Do you have any advice for underclassmen?

Advice that I would give to underclassmen would be to enjoy every second of their time here at Ambrose. It goes by incredibly fast. Get involved with everything you can and don’t think twice about it. You will create amazing friendships this way and get the full experience here at Ambrose.

Favorite quote/motto to live by: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” -Dr. Seuss

3 things people don’t know about you: My dad started Last Blast, I qualified for the Junior Olympics for Track in grade school, and I have a metal rod in my leg from when I broke it in high school.
