 Where are you from?

I am from Sioux City, Iowa. For those who haven’t been to the Sioux or have just passed through, there is one reason for you to go: La Juanitas. That’s all you need to know.

What made you choose Iowa?

I was born and raised a Hawkeye. Plus, Iowa City has always been like a second home to me.

What’s it like being away from your family?

It most definitely sucks being 5 hours from home, but having my big brother here in Iowa City is great. Also, my family travels here all the time for Hawkeye sporting events.

What are your favorite things about going home for breaks?

Seeing my family and best friends is definitely at the top of the list.

What are your spring break plans?

My plans are quite simple. First, I’m going to go home see my family and surprise/celebrate my best friend’s 21st birthday with her. Second, I plan to eat a ton of sushi, and to relax as much as possible.

Best advice you have ever been given?

Cherish every moment you have with the people you love.

What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?

I enjoy a nice animal tee. My favorite is my white wolf (insert wolf emoji and wink face). Oh, and I’m single.

What’s your major?

Studio Design (3D Design emphasis) and Human Relations Minor

What do you want to do with your major?

I hope to go into a career dealing with interior design or design in general…. or open a coffee shop. I’d honestly be happy with either.

What’s your favorite class and why?

My favorite class is interior design. Considering that is what I want to do with my future, it is right up my alley! Not only do I get pushed out of my comfort zone, but I am tested to see how I am able to take certain requirements and make them my own.

You’re graduating early, what are your post-grad plans?

That I am.. it’s scary, exciting, and sad all at the same time. I don’t have set plans, but I am honestly just going to follow my heart and go with my gut.

If you had a choice: Study abroad anywhere you want or Get the Internship of your dreams?

Internship of my dreams. Of course, I would love to study abroad, but I feel like if I had the internship of my dreams, that would take me a lot farther in life than studying abroad would.

What is your favorite event that the University of Iowa holds?

Though I love many of the events Iowa holds, I feel like Dance Marathon hits home the most for me. The fact that college kids are willing to put aside their time to plan and organize the event and then participate in it to raise money for those with cancer–it really is an astonishing thing. Those people are making a difference in people’s lives.

What is your favorite way to stay in shape?

Yoga! Not only is it totally relaxing and calming for me, but it stretches, tones, and builds muscle.

This or that: Coke or Pepsi?

(McDonald’s Fountain) Coke. All the way.

This or that: Cupcake or Cookie?

Well, I don’t really like sweets (I know I am crazy) But if I had to choose, probably cupcakes.
