Good Goings On in Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

With all this good weather, don’t you just feel happier! Well get out and about and spread that happiness throughout Nottingham!

March

19th March – Global Market Bring and Buy Sale

With all proceeds going to Wateraid this is a great way to get rid of anything you don’t need anymore!

21st March – Nottingham Regional and Speciality Food Market

Try some of the best food, drinks and wares from local Nottingham farmstores and businesses in Old Market Square. You won’t get this stuff anywhere else!

21st March – TEDX

TED hosts some of the most inspirational and mind expanding talks available today. This March Nottingham has the honour of hosting not just any TED talks but one from Professor Brian Cox! You cannot miss this! Do you think he’ll sign my T-shirt?

28th March – Earth Hour

With all the Campus halls hosting their own Blackout Events this year’s Earth Hour is looking like it’s going to be a big one! Host your own event or look out for Blackout parties throughout Nottingham on this day from 8pm-9pm.

April

Until 12th April – Commonality of Strangers

Put yourself in somebody else’s shoes at the Commonality of Strangers exhibit at the New Art Exchange by Forest Rec. Similar to Humans of New York, this Nottingham based project gives literal snapshots into the lives of people who migrated to the UK and consider themselves unquestionably British.

18th April – Charity Fun Run

Run either 1.8km or 5km to raise money for the John Van Geest Cancer Research Centre in Nottingham. 100% of the money will be used on Cancer Research and your entry fee includes a T-shirt, so you can show off afterwards!

18th April – Nottingham Regional and Speciality Food Market

As there isn’t a Farmer’s Market at SB this April you certainly can’t miss out on the monthly artisan food market in the Town Centre! Go along and pick up some posh nosh at the same price as the battered cans of tuna in the reduced section of Sainsbury’s.

24th April – Nottinghamshire Police Band Charity Concert

Help raise funds for two wonderful local charities by attending this eagerly awaited concert. Both popular and classical music will be performed and refreshments will be available.

I'm a fourth year at the University of Nottingham and I never want to leave. I blog about easy ways to make a difference in our world and to our community and I spend most of my life online. When the wifi is down though I love to bake, play with dogs, go exploring, maybe do some coursework and (pretend that I can) sing and dance.
