This week, we decided to spotlight a club on campus who has been working hard to put together a wonderful event that allows students to become educated and involved in the fight against cancer. Relay for Life at Xavier will take place on April 10th-April 11th; we highly encourage you to make a team with your friends and support such a great cause!
Campus Celebrity: Relay for Life
Year club was founded: 10+ years ago
This year’s theme: Sports
What are the goals of the Relay at Xavier?
We’re fighting for a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one-day cancer will be eliminated.
We are trying to reach out to more students, faculty, and staff to come together and make XU’s Relay a bigger event!
Why is having Xavier’s own Relay important?
Colleges Against Cancer gives students the opportunity to bring the fight against cancer to the campus and allow them to personally join the fight. It gives the Xavier community a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. It also connects Xavier to the worldwide fight against cancer.
What exciting events can we look forward to this year?
- Our Relay For Life is April 10-11th (3:00pm-9:00am)
- Paint the Campus Purple (March 22-28)
- T-shirt sale on March 25th (11:30-2:30) in GSC
