Yes, you read it right, Lilly Pulitzer will be launching a limited-edition collection on April 19th, 2015. Our dreams have come true….the 250-piece collection will include fifteen exclusive prints that are original works of art. Target’s senior vice president of apparel and accessories, Stacy Anderson stated, “As we started to think about the perfect partner to collaborate with, Lilly Pulitzer was the clear choice given the brand’s inspiring heritage, authority with print and pattern and resort-chic aesthetic.”
In 1959, Lilly Pulitzer began selling juice at a stand off of Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. While she was a very hard worker, she also cared a lot about her fashion. She began to create printed shift dresses to wear while working at the stand, so the juice stains would go unnoticed. Gaining popularity by people walking by, Lilly began to sell the dresses alongside the juice. Catching the eye of Jackie Kennedy and other famous women, the American chic brand was born.
