How to Master the 70’s Trend for Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

The 70’s have made a comeback and I couldn’t be more excited! Whether you want a touch of bohemian or full-on hippie, this trend can work for you! Here are 5 ways to master the trend this spring!

1. Suede

This suede skirt is a great, understated way to give a 70’s vibe to your outfit. Keep the look modern by tucking in a tailored blouse and adding a few dainty, gold accessories like this dreamcatcher ring and feather earrings.

2. Flare Leg Jeans

The flare is back! I’ve been waiting for these pants to make a comeback and it’s finally time! A high waisted pair in a dark wash will give the illusion of extra-long legs!

3. Fringe

Fringe can be bohemian, but it can also look very polished. Pair some fringe shorts in a dark color with a streamlined tank. Keep jewelry at a minimum and finish the look with a 70’s-esque pair of gladiator sandals.

4. Floppy Hat

A hat like this can transition you through several seasons, giving you great value for your money. Wear it for the spring and summer by pairing it with denim shorts and a lightweight top with embroidery detail.

5. Lose Dresses

Loose, printed dresses are the epitome of the 70s. Retailers such as Free People and Forever 21 have some great options for every budget!
