8 Productive (Unproductive) Things You Do In Class

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

With finals just around the corner, it is essential that you attend all of your classes, pay attention, and take good notes….but who am I kidding? Lectures can drag on for what may seem like years.  Here are some things that you actually do to help pass the time.

1. Think of #OOTD’s

You plan out your outfit of the day for every day of the week. Why plan your outfits the night before in front of your closet when you have 90 minutes to ponder possible shirt and skirt combinations for the week?

2. Come up with conversations that wont actually happen

You come up with your best comebacks to conversations that ended an hour ago.

Or you think of conversations that you could have with your crush in some other lifetime when you’re more confident and have superpowers for that kind of thing.

3. Stress Out About How Much Work You Have To Do

You have 2 papers that you haven’t started due tomorrow and 3 tests to study for but you’re wasting your time sitting in class, while ignoring your professor who happens to be handing out yet another assignment.

4. You Wonder If People Can Tell That You’re Falling Asleep

I’m just blinking for a really long time.

5. Think About Funny Things That You Can’t Laugh About

You just remembered that joke your friend told you 2 days ago, only it’s a thousand times more funny when you’re sitting through a lecture.

6. Think of Great Blog Ideas

Or maybe that’s just me, but this article was written in an art history class (In your case, you might be reading this article during class). Some of your best ideas come to you while staring vacantly at your professor doing a lecture. All great ideas come from either sitting in class or taking a shower.

7. Wonder if people can hear your stomach

It’s your own personal alarm clock to remind you that it’s almost time for lunch and it literally sounds like Dory speaking whale. How do people not hear it?

8. Wonder how much time you have left

Still 85 minutes left? Okay.

Don’t worry. You’ll get through it! Now close this article and go back to taking notes!
