There are so many rules. Don’t text the guy first. Never wear nail polish that’s flaking off. Don’t post a million selfies. Don’t make your snap story too long.

Well now that it is finally nice out here at BC, there’s one rule I am ready to break – I am wearing white before Memorial Day. It has been a long winter. One filled with more black that I can handle for a lifetime. So, who cares what the fashion rules are?

There are so many options for white outfits. There are white pants, white dresses, white skirts, white shoes, and the list goes on. I mean just look at these outfits.

Now you don’t have to commit as much as these gorgeous girls with all white, but definitely throw in some white into your wardrobe. I am tired of being told what I am allowed to wear. We are in college; this isn’t middle school where the dress code won’t even let you wear spaghetti straps – I know because spaghetti straps are so scandalous.

In the end, I am wearing white now, and I challenge you to join me. Not only that, but I might even text first. Crazy, I know.

I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
