Are you forever struggling to find a place to study on campus? Don’t sweat it, Her Campus Ryerson has you covered!Check out these spots and you should be well on your way to acing your exams!
1. The SLC
Yes, we know it’s constantly crowded, but if you’re willing to wander around for a little bit you may just score yourself a cubicle to study in!*note: be prepared to bring earplugs if you want to drown out the elevators…they’re loud.
2. Sally Horsefall Eaton CentreWe stumbled onto the top floor of this building completely by accident, and found ourselves looking on an entire wall of windows equipped with couches and chairs and all the essentials for studying! If you can navigate the labrinth that is Eric Palin Hall, you may just find your favorite spot on campus!
3. The QuadEw, who wants to study for exams when it’s this beautiful out? As Mel Lastman would say, NOOOOOOOBOOOODYYYYY! Make the best of a lame situation by heading down to the Quad. You won’t have to fight Kerr Hall’s nonsensical layout, and you can do all your readings under the sunny skies.*note: sunscreen is a must. You want to be asorbing material, not wrinkle-and-cancer-causing UV rays!
4. International Living and Learning CentreDid you even know this building existed? The first floor of this building, located at the foot of Gould Street, is decked out with comfy chairs, tables, and even couches! You’ll be studying in true comfort-and there’s plenty of outlets in the conference rooms when they’re not booked out!
5. The Subway
Yes, it sounds weird, but if you’re paying a ridiculous amount of money in TTC fares, you might as well use every bit of the system possible! How to do it? Get on a southbound train from College or Dundas station, preferably a front or back car, and snag yourself a seat! You can put on some headphones and do your readings as long as you need to, all the way from Downsview Station through to Finch and back again-and for once, delays will work in your favor!*note: this can also be done on the Bloor-Danforth line, but it may be more difficult to get a seat at Bloor-Yonge or St. George vs at College or Dundas heading southbound. You want to get on the southbound train because it’s a) a longer ride and b) traffic is consistently higher heading north to finch than to downsview!
So get out there and ace those exams! You got this!
