With her new movie, Age of Adaline hitting theatres this week, Blake Lively is capturing everyone’s attention.
The former gossip girl is moving to the big screen and slowly taking over Hollywood. It’s been almost 3 years since Serena van der Woodsen left our television screens. However, after some time away from the spotlight Blake Lively has returned not only as a talented actress, but also as a lifestyle blogger, a new mother and an emerging fashion icon.
Last July, Lively launched her lifestyle website “Preserve” which features articles about music, food and extraordinary people. Lively serves as an editor and sometimes posts content on the website about her personal life. She describes the people featured on the website as artisans and aims to showcase their crafts.
Lively used her website to announce her pregnancy to the world. Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds’ baby girl James was born in December. Unlike some celebrities, Lively and Reynolds did not sell pictures of their baby to magazines and have decided to take a more private approach. They just recently decided to reveal the baby’s name to the public. “It’s a family name and I liked having a boy’s name. So I thought I’d pass it along,” Lively said on Good Morning America.
Although she had a growing baby bump, Lively did not decide to sacrifice her style during her pregnancy. She redefined maternity-wear. Of course Lively has continued to dominate the fashion– she wore a total of nine outfits in one day to promote her current movie Age of Adaline. It’s no surprise that Lively has landed three Vogue covers so far in her career (among countless other fashion magazine covers).
Despite Lively’s new endeavors over the last few months, she has finally returned to acting. This week, Lively’s new film Age of Adaline hits theatres. It is unlike Lively’s past films, The Green Lantern and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and proves the range Lively has as an actress. The film appears to be a very sophisticated and romantic movie with an intriguing female lead. The film is hopefully an indication that Lively will permanently return to the film industry and acquire more roles. xoxo.
