Campus Cutie: Rhiannon Imbeah

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Rhiannon Imbeah is one talented, hard working person who has big dreams and plans for the future.  A pre-human biology and society BD major and a first year, there is no doubt she will definitely make a change for her community within her time here at UCLA. Born in Los Angeles and currently residing in Palmdale, Rhiannon hopes to make a change on both of the cities that made an impact on her life.  Definitely a cutie, her personality and heart is so beautiful, there is no way you can miss out on knowing her!

1.      What are you involved with on campus?

I’m involved with many organizations at UCLA. I currently work in the Community Programs Office as an Office Intern. I am also involved with Black Campus Ministries and the Nigerian Student Association. I love working with CPO, my second home away from home and I joined BCM and NSA because I enjoy working with these organizations because of what they stand for and how they have impacted the student body in such a positive way. It is great to be appart of something bigger than myself. I’m a student leader with BCM, which is a Christian group on campus. As for NSA, I have met a lot of African students who are people I genuinely enjoy being around and it is nice to be part of a community that reflects my culture.

2.      What work do you hope to pursue with your future degree?

I hope to continue my education in medical school and earn my M.D. to become a pediatrician. However, my ultimate long term goal is to go to Africa to open clinics and hospitals and help buld up the community in whatever way I can.

3.      If “Younger You” were to see the “Present You”, and ask “Rhiannon are you working towards your dream and accomplishing what you said you would do?”, how would you respond?

I hope the answer would be a resounding yes. I am sure younger me would be proud of the present me.

4.      What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to spend time with my family and read. I haven’t done this in a while but I also love to sketch. In addition, I love to cook and bake. If I were not currently in college for medicine, I would probably like to pursue a career in fashion design.

5.      Do you have any plans in regards on what you want to do for your second year?

Of course! I hope to continue with my education and classes, on track to earn my degree. My goal is to get into any program that is related to the health field. I used to intern at a hospital and I loved the experience. I hope to return to the hospital back home and hopefully check in with some of the patients I met last year.
