With the school year coming to an end, it’s time to get excited for summer. As Sharpay would say, “Goodbye clouds of gray, hello skies of blue!” While we are all more than happy to say farewell to our chunky sweaters and welcome back our sundresses and shorts, one dilemma we all struggle with is how to deal with the heat! One way to describe our relationship with the sun is love-hate. We love a nice sun-kissed glow and how the sun warms us up from our head to our toes, but we hate the sticky feeling that comes from the heat-induced sweat.

If you’re in the same boat, here are some ways for you beat the heat while still enjoying the pure bliss of summer.

Go for a Swim.

Going for a dip in the pool is a classic way to beat the summer heat. With new swimsuit lines hitting the shelves, no matter what your taste is you’re sure to find one that suits your style. Just don’t forget to lather up with some sunscreen because nothing is worse than getting so burnt that you’re mistaken for a lobster.

Go to the Movies.

On a day when the temperature isn’t going anywhere but up, there is no better place to escape the heat than the movie theater.  From comedies to horror, there are a lot of must-see movies hitting the big screen this summer.

Stay Hydrated.

Make sure you are drinking a lot of water during these hotter months. Invest in a large reusable water bottle that will be you’re number one accessory. Water has so many benefits for your overall health, so drink up!

Hit the Great Outdoors But Don’t Forget the Essentials!

Summer is a time for outdoor adventures!  Whether it’s a hike, bike ride, paddle boarding adventure, or a trip to the beach always make sure you have the essentials. Pack your bag with sunscreen, a water bottle, sunglasses and a hat. With your essentials in tow, get ready to enjoy nature’s beauty.

Treat Your Taste Buds!

When the sun is beaming down there is nothing more satisfying than a nice frozen treat. Smoothies, frozen yogurt, popsicles or ice cream are classic go-tos. With so many recipes out there, try out your culinary skills and make your own! Hit up the local farmer’s market or grocery store to stock up on some yummy fruit or catch-up with your friends over some frozen yogurt.
