Now that finals stress is over, I have been thinking about my summer bucket list. While packing and saying goodbye to my friends, I have created a list of some fun activities. Read below for some ideas on what to do this summer!
1. Go to the Beach (A LOT)
Being from Southern California, I’ve been raised on summer beach trips and I LOVE them. I hope to make it to the beach more than usual this summer. There’s nothing better than laying in the sand with your headphones in and taking a dip in the ocean when the sun gets too warm!
2. Catch Up on Some Reading
Summer is the best time to dust off the books that have been sitting on your nightstand while you’ve been occupied with ridiculous amounts of required reading. My summer reads include The Intern’s Handbook by John Lago, Rich Bitch by Nicole Lapin, and Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen.
3. Land a Summer Job
Whether or not you’ve already lined up a summer job or internship, it can be a great way to gain experience in your future career field or make some extra cash. If you are searching for a last-minute summer job, try looking at Indeed.com, or for the non-profit sector, Idealist.org.
4. Hang Out with Family & Friends
I am lucky enough to go home to my best friends from high school, five siblings, and a niece and a nephew. I can’t wait to be reunited with them all and plan on making the most of my time with them! Searching for some fun activities to do with your loved ones? Try checking for local concerts, county fairs, and food truck festivals.
5. Road Trip!
Having free time in the summer offers great opportunities to hit the road with your besties, significant other, or family. Even if it’s just a day trip, road trips are guaranteed to bring lots of good memories and of course, Instagram photo-ops. Plus, websites like Airbnb.com make it easy to find a cheap place to stay in any destination.
