Tips For Relieving Stress During Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

Finals week is slowly approaching, Towson University. It is always exciting knowing summer is just around the corner, yet most of us still have huge tests to prepare for. I don’t know about you, but during finals week I am so stressed. Anything and everything stress me out; from my breakouts, to studying to packing to leave school — it seems as if everything is happening at once. Here are ways that I have found helpful to relieve stress:

Tip 1: Take care of yourself: When you’re stressed, it shows. Your skin freaks out on you, and you look tired. Make sure you are drinking a lot of water, eating healthy (A pizza every now and again doesn’t hurt) and exercising. Taking care of yourself should be a priority, don’t skimp out on it during finals week.

Tip 2: Take it day by day: I have learned that cramming for a huge test never helps me. I always become super stressed and end up not doing as well as I could have. Make a daily plan of what tests you are going to study for and how many chapters you should study. Trust me, it helps.

Tip 3: Do some Yoga: Yoga helps me relieve stress. The deep breathing exercises help me calm down and I feel as if I have a more focused mind. (Check out www.Yoga.com for some good videos for beginners)

Tip 4: Think positively: I know if I am negative about my finals, I stress myself out. Try to have a positive outlook while studying, it can improve your mood altogether.

Tip 5: Have relaxation time: Whether it is taking a bath after a late night of studying, watching Netflix, or reading your favorite book, it is always important to take time to wind down after studying.

Tip 6: Don’t study what you don’t need to: Only study what you aren’t as strong on. Do not waste your time studying things that you already know.

I hope these tips helped! Good luck with your finals Collegiettes,
HCXO
