This week’s Campus Cutie is senior Michael Galis! Read on to learn more about him:
HC at Oregon State: Why did you choose to major in Electrical & Computer Engineering?
Michael: My dad is an electrician, and I always grew up thinking I was going to be one too, but he pushed me to go higher as an electrical engineer. I always loved solving puzzles, and that’s what you do as an engineer.
HC at Oregon State: What is your best college memory?
Michael: Probably the night I was tied up and dropped off onto our sister house’s porch.
HC at Oregon State: Is there anything that you would like to do before you graduate?
Michael: Take the snowboard and scuba diving classes. I’ve heard they’re amazing.
HC at Oregon State: Do you have any college regrets?
Michael: Going to community college my first year. Community college is great, but I should have dual-enrolled at LBCC while going to OSU.
HC at Oregon State: What would be your ideal date?
Michael: I would want to take a girl up to my favorite hike, called Lake 22, which is near Seattle. It’s one of the best views I have ever seen. Then we would head out to Seattle and go to a concert, I don’t really care who would be playing, concerts are as fun as you make them. Then I would just end the night eating anywhere. We could go to some nice restaurant and dance or just go home to eat pizza and watch Netflix.
HC at Oregon State: Do you have any hobbies? What do you like to do in your spare time?
Michael: I like to go running, hiking, snowboarding, boating, golfing, and I also like playing tennis. Other than those, I enjoy going out with friends and having a couple beers and watching movies.
HC at Oregon State: Any celebrity crushes?
Michael: Emma Stone. Her awkwardness is attractive.
HC at Oregon State: Do you have any pet peeves?
Michael: Slow drivers.
HC at Oregon State: Favorite Movie?
Michael: This is always a hard one. For now, I’ll probably say Big Fish.
HC at Oregon State: What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?
Michael: I’ve always wanted to invent something and join in on all the advances in engineering. This may be through a start up or through a company. Right now I’m just working on the technical side of things, and I’d hope to gain some ideas throughout the learning process.
Give it up for Michael, and have an amazing summer!
