Last weekend was the second annual Summer to Fummer weekend! Saturday night at 9pm, F&M Options co-hosted another Ben’s Bands with WFNM. Su Spina, Erin Hallenbeck, and Hallie Keatley oversaw the organization of the event and proceeds went to funding future Ben’s Bands concerts. Musicians from Lancaster, Philly, and more were featured in Ben’s Underground. Students were able to play a game of pool or get milkshakes and snacks while they listened to the bands – some even started dancing.
The featured bands for the event were:
The Atomic Hawks – “F&M’s own punk rawk” with members Tom Fogel, Ani Akpan, and Lauren Jane. This band performed at last semester’s spring arts and has been a great hit on campus.
The Ok-Ok’s – They’re a rock band from the nearby town of York, PA featuring Sadie Swartz, Isaac Swartz, Chris Ridolfi, and Lauren Briggs. The band has their own original music, ranging genres from blues to punk, while being able to still make it their own.
RFA – A band from Philly that was a great success at Ben’s Bands. They play “stripped down garage rock and roll music” and were the end to a great night!
Ben’s Bands and Summer to Fummer are great weekend events first conceived last school year. Both events have been very successful with the student body. They offer great options for activities over the weekend that all students can enjoy.
