HC: So what brought you to UC?AC: On top of the beautiful campus and location in downtown Cincinnati, the great engineering program and the co-op program made it a no brainer to attend UC.

HC: Since coming to UC, what have you become involved in?AC: I’m currently the VP of Special Events for Student Alumni Council and I organize some of our internal socials. SAC is a group of 40 students who engage alumni at various university events and encourage students to be active alumni once they graduate. This year, I’m also the weeklong events chair for all Homecoming events, which is one of our major initiatives, along with the Red and Black Book and Bearcats 101! I’m also currently the social chair of my fraternity, Beta Theta Pi, after being the Secretary and Inter-Greek Chair last year. I’m also one of the tour guides within the College of Engineering and Applied Science as a CEAS Ambassador. With this, I helped create a virtual video tour of some of our college buildings!

HC: You definitely seem to care a lot about the advancement of UC! What has been your personal favorite memory so far as a Bearcat?AC: My favorite memory was opening up Nippert Stadium in the rain at the first game back. From doing Down the Drive in the pouring rain, to (briefly) rushing the field, up until singing the Alma Mater with friends after the game, having football back on campus for the first time in over a year was an awesome experience.

HC: You told me earlier you were on TV during the game wearing a very slick UC bucket hat, which I can appreciate. Explain the bucket hat fad.AC: Back in the 80’s LL Cool J and other early hip hop artists brought the bucket hat back to mainstream popularity, and then it faded back to primarily being the go-to for Floridians doing yard work. Recently, Schoolboy Q has been wearing them around and have really brought them back into popularity. I wear loud patterned bucket hats occasionally because it’s fun and kind of ridiculous, which is pretty much my aesthetic.
