Why We Love Pumpkin Flavored Anything

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Seton Hall chapter.

From candles to coffee to bread to desserts, we love pumpkin season, and here’s why:

1.     It’s available for a limited time only and we obviously always want what we can’t have.

Pumpkin Spiced Lattes from Starbucks are only out for a limited time, as well as all of our other favorite goodies, and that means we must take every chance we get to order something pumpkin-flavored.  Once it is gone, we start to crave a pumpkin donut or smelling a fall candle in mid-March, and we have to cope with the fact that we won’t be able to embrace fall for another six months.

2.     It’s fall…duh.

We don’t know what it is, but hello—fall is the best season and makes us want to be cozy with cute sweaters and Halloween movies while clutching onto a yummy Pumpkin Spiced Latte and having a pumpkin candle aroma fill up a room.  It’s the perfect warm feeling for when the cool, crisp air hits our faces when we walk around campus.

3.     It’s hard to describe.

Some people find pumpkin flavors utterly repulsive, but we don’t get it.  We think that we love pumpkin flavors so much because it is a combination of all of the above.  Fall is a time for change and excitement with school starting and the holidays, and what better way to celebrate that feeling with a drink/dessert/candle that is only available during that time.  It’s pretty much a sense of nostalgia and comfort, and who doesn’t love that?!
