The New Ned’s Declassified: Her Campus Survival Kits!

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePaul chapter.

One of the wonderful perks of joining Her Campus is they send us gifts from their sponsors every quarter. It makes going to school so much easier when we get a Chipotle BOGO card or TRESemmé Sea Salt Spray (where are you going, Summer?!)!

This year’s Back-to-School survival kit contained so many goodies, it was hard to fit them all into one picture! We gave them to our team at our first official general body meeting this quarter, and everyone is really excited to start using their new gifts!

Her Campus gave us cute pennants to hang up in our big girl city apartments! Since DePaul doesn’t have a football team, we don’t have cute items like this littered around our spaces, so this is a nice addition to our décor.

TRESemmé kindly gave us hair products to keep our hair wavy well into fall. Some of these are products we wanted to try anyway, and this gives us the perfect excuse to play with our hair!

Penguin Random House offered free previews: a chapter of We Were Liars by E. Lockhart and the companion novels Every Day and Another Day by David Levithan. We are honestly hooked! HC DePaul book club, anyone?

NYC New York Color gave us chubby eye pencils. With early morning classes (what were we thinking when we made our schedules last spring?!), it’s just so much more convenient to swipe on a shadow stick instead of pulling out eye shadow brushes. We’re excited to try these!

Actually She Can made an appearance at Her Conference this summer, and seeing their magazine in our kit brightened our day! We love this movement, mostly because we hate being told we can’t do things.

Zing Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener is saving my butt right now. I’m so bad about buying sugar for my coffee because I’ve never been a big coffee drinker, but now that I’m busier than ever, my Keurig is finally getting use. This survival kit came just in time so now I don’t have to make the #bittercoffee face (or steal sugar from the student center)!

Martha Stewart is queen of crafts. If her section isn’t the first one you go to when you’re in Michaels, it’s probably because it’s not economically friendly for poor college kids who prefer to spend money on food. But there is no denying that she has the highest quality paints, and now we finally own some! Thank you, Martha!

The No Ceilings calendar also made an appearance at Her Conference (one of my personal favorite panels of the weekend), and the Full Participation Project is an important step in the right direction for intersectional feminist equality in the United States.

Our survival kit had one large piece we were so gaga over this quarter – the MZ Wallace tote bag! We haven’t decided what to do with it just yet, but keep on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages to see if we feature it in a giveaway…

My Social Canvas has a great mission for aspiring fashion designers, so we were thrilled to see them in our survival kits!

Where would we be without Chipotle? Honestly, would we even be functioning college students? Probably not. That’s why we’re so grateful to have received BOGO Burrito cards.

We also received Cold-EEZE to keep us healthy during midterms and finals seasons, Diva Cup coupons for our physical health, Five Hour Energy (and earbuds!), Cocoa Butter lip balm, and #BakeaChange pamphlets from She’s The First (also a Her Conference favorite!).

Thank you so much to the sponsors that get us through the quarter! We love being a part of Her Campus for so many reasons, and Survival Kits are no exception.

Tori Meschino is a lot of things with a lot of majors. She's a macaroni and cheese lover, a sorority woman, obsessed with Michael J. Fox, a binge-watcher, an editor-in-chief, the HerCDM president, a woman in tech, and a writer. She majors in Interactive and Social Media and Media and Cinema Studies, and minors in General Psychology (and a minor in Never Graduating). So basically she's everywhere. Oh, and she's one of the Campus Correspondents for Her Campus DePaul!
