There’s no better way to prepare for class than by watching the premiere of your favorite fall TV show! Confused about what to watch, or think you’ve seen everything? Here are nine shows to make your procrastination worthwhile:

New this fall:

1. Blindspot

Jaimie Alexander stars as the mysterious and badass female lead in this crime/drama, which opens with intrigue—her character appears in the middle of Times Square, naked, covered in tattoos, with no memory of how she got there. Drawing from movies like Memento (2000) by Christopher Nolan, and Canadian sci-fi series Orphan Black, this show is not one to be missed.

Premiered September 21, 2015

Mondays, 10/9c on NBC

2. Scream Queens

Producer Ryan Murphy’s newest brainchild, this show features a glamorous sorority visited by something sinister. The series is full to the brim with big names, including Emma Roberts, Keke Palmer, Lea Michele, Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas, and Nasim Pedrad. If you secretly loved Pretty Little Liars or Glee and are looking for something a tad (but only a tad) less gruesome than American Horror Story, this show is for you.

Premiered September 22, 2015

Tuesdays 8/7c on FOX

3. Fear the Walking Dead

For those who love The Walking Dead, or want to jump on board the zombie train, this series gives viewers the real story behind how the outbreak began. If you’re open to a new cast and asynchronous plot lines, this one’s for you.

Premiered August 23, 2015

Sundays 9/8c on AMC

Returning Favorites:

4. Modern Family

Season 7 premiered on September 23, 2015.

Wednesdays 9/8c on ABC

5. Homeland

Season 5 premiered on October 4, 2015.

Sundays 9/8c on Showtime

6. Keeping Up With the Kardashians

Season 10 premiered on September 20, 2015.

Sundays 8/7c on E

Returning with a Twist:

7. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert has dropped the charade and has moved into his new late night role—but that doesn’t mean he’s ignoring politics altogether! While interviewing Donald Trump, Jeb Bush and many others, Colbert will still give you the dose of election news you crave.

Season 1 Premiered September 8, 2015

Weeknights 11:35/10:35c on CBS

8. The Daily Show with Trevor Noah

Trevor Noah takes over for our beloved Jon Stewart, but if his previous Daily Show short segments are any indication, he’ll do one heck of a job as host. Oh, and his South African accent doesn’t hurt either.

Premiered September 28, 2015

Weeknights 11/10c on Comedy Central

9. American Horror Story: Hotel

Jessica Lange is gone, but AHS is back, featuring a classic haunted hotel complete with creepy staff, sinister twins, and… Lady Gaga? As always, the show is bound to leave you feeling sufficiently confused and disturbed.

Premiered October 7, 2015

Wednesdays 10/9c on FX
