With Halloween just around the corner, people are starting to think about what they want to dress up as. But who wants to spend $30 on a costume that you’ll only wear once? Well, here is a list of DIY costumes that are cute AND won’t break the bank.

Risky Business

Who would’ve thought that Tom Cruise could inspire a costume? All you’ll need for this staple look is a white button up shirt that can be long enough to wear without pants (be sure to wear spandex or athletic shorts under this though) then throw on some long white socks and dark sunglasses and you’re good to go!

Shower Scrubby

This costume is a very easy to make Halloween costume, and all you’ll need is colorful tulle, an elastic band, and a rope of some type. Virtually inexpensive, all of these items can be found at any craft store for a reasonable price.

Minnie Mouse

For this iconic costume you’ll need a red skirt or tutu, a black shirt and mouse ears. If you don’t have a red tutu or skirt lying around, head to your nearest costume shop for one that is no more than $10. For the mouse ears all you have to do is simply tape or glue black circles onto a black headband.

Black Cat

Any animal is easy to replicate. For this black cat costume all you will need is a black shirt and leggings along with some cat ears and a tail. To complete this look, draw on a nose and some whiskers. The cat ears and tail can either be made or found at your nearest costume shop or local Target and Wal-Mart for under $15 total.

Sandy

Another easy DIY costume is Sandy from the iconic movie ‘Grease’. All you’ll need for this costume is black clothing. Black leggings, off the shoulder shirt and leather jacket. To finish the outfit, get some red heels and bright red lipstick and you’re ready to go! If you don’t have a leather jacket or red heels, go to your nearest thrift store for cheap and easy finds!
