As the days are cooling down and we are coming upon true Fall season, it is not only time to switch from t-shirts to coats and from sandals to boots, but it’s time to switch the colors of our makeup and makeup patterns. As we switch to Fall colors, it is important to note this Fall has extremes in makeup. This Fall is all about being bold and noticed or simply natural and minimal. Here are quite a few staple colors and trends you will want to keep in mind as you take a stroll down the cosmetics aisle before heading out into the beautiful fall foliage!

1. Berry Colored Lips

Berry colored lips are seen all over the runway this season. Colors ranging from Wine and Plum to Burgundy and Blackberry are all making the list…pretty much anything dark and bold. These colors are making lips transition from upbeat, light colors of summer to the cooler sense of fall and winter. In addition to berry lips, deep red lips are making a comeback.

2. Bronze Shadow

The bronze shadow also gives off the warmth of autumn, with its slightly darker color and shimmer. This color is perfect on the eyelids for date night, nights out, and the upcoming holidays. Try out Maybelline’s “Downtown Brown” or MAC’s “Bronze” to follow this trend.

3. Seasonally Rosy Cheeks

The goal of this trend is to accentuate your cheeks and make it look like you just came in from outside where the snow is falling. For flushed cheeks, try a light pink shade, and not so much a super rosy red; this will give you the natural look of coming in from the freezing temperatures outside.

4. Hazy Gray Eyes

Gray eyeliner beneath the lower lashes has been increasingly popular on runways recently. Applying a gray eyeliner draws more attention to the eye than a basic black or brown would. This said, also try a gray or silver shadow for your lids, which will have the same intriguing effect.

5. “Disco” Nails

Add some spunk to your nails by adding a layer of sparkle to dark colored nails (think brown, dark purples, dark reds, maroon) with layering polishes such as the rose-gold glitter from Nails INC. You could also go the alternate route and keep in the disco theme by opting for a simple silver, gold or other metallic color.

6. The New Cat Eye

This fall, women have been sporting a range of cat eyes, from being barely there to being able to be seen from across the room. So wear this trend to whatever degree you feel comfortable, but definitely incorporate it into your makeup regimen, as they are always eye-catching and perfect for the cooler weathered days. This is another go-to you’ll want to use for your nights out.

7. Feathered Brow

This Fall a fuller eyebrow is becoming one of the top trends. The goal of this look is to create a more natural, less perfect Instagram-esque brow look. In this look the brows are slightly brushed up yet still pretty well groomed. With a brow pencil, use quick and tiny strokes to mimic your eyebrow hairs.

8. All-Natural Makeup

Despite all the bold colors and trends this fall, the all-natural, barely-there look is gaining popularity again. Models have hit the runway this fall with the minimal makeup look, wearing blushes that match their skin tone, light lips and little mascara.
