On September 29 of this year, Her Campus Albizu received their first Survival Kit filled with many goodies to choose from.  We were very excited to see that Her Campus gave to us a lot of information on different activities we could participate in.  These projects are very special because they are all in the benefit of organizations that help people, which is exactly what Albizu University’s students are about.  As psychologists, we not only help people to deal with their feelings and emotions.  We also help them deal with their daily situations and at times, we can interfere more directly in their lives by getting them the help they need from other entities whose purpose is to make other’s lives better.  We were especially touched by the She’s the First initiative, so much that we decided to participate in the BakeaChange tie-dye cupcake bake-off!  We really loved the fact that we would be helping girls get better education and more opportunities in life by raising money so they can reach something we take for granted such as having a high-school education.  On another note, we received so much from our sponsors!  From Martha Stewart Crafts we received acylic paints and glitter, from The Diva Cup, we got two diva cups, from Palmer’s, we received awesome cocoa butter chap sticks and from NYC New York Color, we received two gorgeous brown waterproof tube eyeshadows!  We’d especially like to give a shoutout to our friends over at Cold-EEZE for providing us with some cold medicine for our students!  In the tropics, people tend to get sick when the climate gets humid and rainy and that’s pretty much all the time, therefore, our students greatly appreciated their sponsorship of Her Campus.  We plan to do a giveaway soon for our collegiettes, so stay tuned!
