Sarah Schulz and Cassie Georgantas have taken it upon themselves to discover all of Denver’s unique restaurants and locally owned stores to share with their followers. They search for affordable restaurants that have a hip vibe and strong concept. Their most recent favorites are Biju’s Curry Shop, Uncle, Devil’s Food, and Avanti F&B. Avanti F&B is actually a modern building that houses seven different culinary options ranging from Venezuelan style arepas to a global noodle joint with a strong japanese influence. Their personal favorite thing to cook is spring rolls and roasted veggies. They put a strong emphasis on limiting processed foods. Right now Localized Denver is just on Instagram, but stay tuned to follow their blog in the near future.
Besides sharing a blog together, Sarah and Cassie are best friends. They met winter quarter in INFO 1010 when Cassie commented on how tasty Sarah’s roasted vegetable salad looked. Their bond continued as they studied at Beans (still their go to spot) and talked about restauraunts in Santa Fe. It was obvious from early on that they had a lot in common and virtually the same taste in everything. In their free time they like to hike and go shopping. I am personally lucky enough to get to tag along on most of their endeavors.
These two young bright women are involved on campus in multiple organizations. Cassie is a member of Chi Omega and Sarah is a member of Delta Zeta. Sarah is the President of Design Build Institute of America and President of Real Estate Construction Management Network. Cassie is the treasurer for Students for Substainable Food. She is the food and gardens lead assistant for Sustainability Committee. She is also an active member of RECM.
