My best friend promised me that the beginning of fall represents a time for great opportunities. Since I’m recovering from a breakup, I embraced this. I took this mantra into consideration as the leaves began changing colour, and the air cooled down. This article is for all those who are beginning to mend their broken hearts because they are the victims of the turkey dump. Although I was a pre-season feature to this classic occurrence, I too, am experiencing the pain of a breakup, and no ladies, it’s not fun.

Yet, this is the time of our lives and with being single comes so many new opportunities! Yes, right now we are clutching that big glass of wine in one hand, with our favourite flavor of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream in the other hand. But, we also have a blank page to begin the next chapters of our life.  Ladies, it’s time to grow through these new opportunities.

After speaking with my editor, who also has gone through a recent breakup, we both realized there is light at the end of the tunnel. Ladies, I want to emphasize that you must reflect and see how much you have grown as a person from this relationship. Each relationship teaches you something new about yourself and you will always be grateful to that person for whatever it is you learned. Whether it was gaining confidence or being comfortable in your own skin, there’s always something to discover and use in the future.

This is my advice to you ladies: Cherish each opportunity as it comes. Take risks, and love life to its fullest. Although Ben and Jerry’s may be your new boyfriend for now, a special person will come again whether it’s in a day, a month, or a year.

However, there is always another side to the leaf, after all, it is fall.

You will typically see me with a large cup of tea and browsing social media under the fairy lights and reading up on my favourite lady bosses (Mindy Kaling let me be you please). Also my trivia regarding superheroes is endless. I have more music than time to listen to and someone definitely should consider taking away my blogging privileges.

My love for pop culture is limitless and Netflix is the true MVP in my opinion.
