What’s a favorite childhood story about yourself?

My grandfather used to hide in the house when he’d visit us in Japan as kids and I would get so upset when I couldn’t find him. Then one of the times we came back to Hawaii to visit, I convinced my parents that we should go to his house and march around the yard and sing the same song he would sing. So we did this at like 5 o’clock in the morning, woke him up and scared him– his was the best payback ever.

What do you think your parents are most proud of you for?

Being independent, doing what I want to do and doing it well.

What is a quote that you live by?
