Even though Canadian Netflix doesn’t have as much of a selection as the American Netflix, we’ve gathered some great chick flicks you need to see!
1. The Other Women
This one is absolutely hilarious and if you haven’t seen it yet you NEED to. Leslie Mann’s husband is a serial cheater and the movie is about how the lives of his wife and mistresses get intertwined… one could even say they become bffs??? If you want to see how Cameron Diaz and Kate Upton help Leslie get revenge you’ll have to watch and find out!
2. Two Night Stand
An unexpectedly modern chick flick, Miles Tenner and Analeigh Tipton meet late night for a booty call and as the title says they get snowed in for two nights. This cute flick is relatable to today’s society and should definitely be on your list.
3. Disney Live Action Cinderella
A sweet real life portrayal of this classic. There are no surprise twists but wonderful props, costumes, scenery and actors (Prince Charming is quite the hunk!). Watch this when you’re in the mood for a happy, cute chick flick that’ll make you feel all warm and gooey inside! PS. You may want to hit/kill the stepmother though, I know I did
4. Hitch
If you love Will Smith and Kevin James you’ll have lots of laughs during this film. Will Smith is “Hitch” a love and lady expert that helps clueless guys get the girls of their dreams only he somehow blanks when he meets Eva Mendes.
5. Kingsman: the Secret Service
Ok so this one may be more action oriented but you won’t regret watching it I promise! Taron Egerton is a total babe with a sexy accent and sharp jawline oh and did we mention he’s competing to be top secret British spy? If you’re into action movies this will be a sure hit and if you’re not, this movie might turn you!
6. What’s Your Number
Anna Faris plays a hilarious blonde who’s slept with quite a few guys in her time. After reading an article and finding out she’s over the “national average” of how many lovers a female has she revisits her past flames in hopes that one of them will again hit it off. Hottie Chris Evans agrees to assist her in tracking down her ex’s so long as she lets him hide in her apartment to escape his one night stand sleepovers.
7. Mamma Mia
If you haven’t already seen this (!!???) you’re going to want to. Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, ABBA soundtrack and in Greece? Ya, you need to see this. Great dance numbers with even better actors, you’ll be swooning over the intertwining love stories whilst also laughing at the ‘challenges’ they occur.
8. Friends with Benefits
Justin Timberlake will make you melt with his sweet patience and obvious humor. Mila Kunis is a playful headhunter who lures Justin to New York. The two become great friends and well….as the title says takes it a step further and becomes friends with benefits. The movie plays out this unique relationship and as predicted romance sneaks in…find out what happens and watch this great film!
9. Clueless
Alright if you haven’t already seen this your life has not been fulfilled. Iggy Azalea’s music video for “Fancy” is a representation of this movie! Alicia Silverstone play’s ‘Cher’ with an enviable closet, home and life. Being popular in the 90s meant being nice. Who knew?! Her and her bff ‘Dee’ (Stacey Dash) transform new tomboy student ‘Tai’ (Brittany Murphy) to a cute popular girl like them. If you love classic 90s movies and way of life, you’ll LOVE this classic!
10. Life as We Know It
This one will tug at your heartstrings. The Netflix description is as follows “Take a career woman, a bachelor, and an orphaned baby. What do you get? Instant family and instant dysfunction.” Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel are complete opposites but are forced into raising a child together.
