The weekend is right around the corner, and campus seems to be buzzing with excitement and preparation for all the Homecoming festivities. Trinity is all about community and tradition, and nothing screams that quite like alumni, old and young, coming back to the place they called home for four years and celebrating what it means to be a Bantam. Homecoming is a real testament to the family that Trinity is; even after all of their post-college years, people still feel a connection to Trinity and come back to campus to relive their glory days. Although there isn’t really a wrong way to do Homecoming (because nobody ever complains about tailgating and catching up with old friends) there are, of course, ways to make sure your weekend is stress free and memorable.Â
Â
The Outfit:
Keep in mind that we have been experiencing some unnaturally warmer days, even two weeks into November. While thankfully we aren’t expecting any rain this year, make sure to leave your room in something comfortable, since you’ll be mingling outside and being active for most of the day. Wait to see how you feel when you wake up, but a light sweater, jeans, and boots is probably your best bet. If you’re really feeling Bantam proud, throw on your favorite Trinity sweatshirt and call it a day!Â
Â
The Tailgate:
First off, get your group of friends together ahead of time to plan a tailgate. The football game is usually the main event of the day, so naturally, drinking Bloody Mary’s and eating finger foods in the parking lot beforehand is a must. Make it a pot luck! Have each person bring something to the tailgate, whether that’s a platter of pigs in a blanket or something of liquid form. Either way, everyone should pitch in. This will guarantee a fun-filled tailgate with good food, plenty of drinks, loud music, and friends! And don’t forget to leave time to see old friends who graduated! Campus will be filled with alumni, so make sure to be on the look out for familiar faces and enjoy a little change of pace in the social scene.

The Game
And speaking of the tailgate, be sure to actually make it to the football game. Go cheer on the team! This year, the Trinity Bantams, under the leadership of captains Ian Dugger, Frank Leyva, and Kyle Pulek, will face Wesleyan, our number one rival. This traditional rivalry is all the more reason to go support our team, not to mention that Trinity needs this win in order to take home a share of the league’s championship. So far this season, Trinity has won every single home game, so you can expect this game to be no different. Wesleyan won’t stand a chance. Homecoming is all about school spirit, so don’t miss out on being part of the Bantam pride. You don’t want to wake up on Sunday and realize that you missed the big win because you lost track of time.Â
