This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Durham chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

Break-ups are the worst, and there’s never a good time for them. You feel like a part of you is missing, and you can’t seem to see a future. But here at Her Campus Durham, we’ve all been there, done that, and got the t-shirt. And at the end of the day, we all feel a little stronger for it.

So here’s to our exes:

I sometimes feel like a piece of dog poo because of you

And other times I just really really miss you

But I also hate your guts

And you might have broken me to pieces, but I won’t let you destroy me for good

Because I am a brilliant person, and you are the one missing out

And I have every reason to be happy, because I get to fall in love all over again

And find someone that finally treats me right

And cherishes all the parts of me that you failed to accept

But I hope that when you realise what you’ve lost it doesn’t hurt too much

Because I am moving on without you.

I am currently in my final year of studying English Literature at Durham University, England. I am hoping to become a journalist in the future, but in the mean time, I enjoy cheerleading, fashion and travelling, and of course, being the editor of Durham's Her Campus!
