57 Thoughts We Had While Listening To One Direction’s New Album For The First Time

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

A play-by-play from someone who definitely hasn’t had it on repeat since it was released…

1. *5 seconds in* This is their best album yet.

2. Harry keeps singing “Hey Angel”… like, hi. What’s good?

3. This song is going to sound amazing live.

4. Oh wait, they’re taking a break. *cries*

5. You know what, it’s fine, it’s all – “NOBODY CAN DRAG ME DOWN”

6. I can’t believe – “NOBODY, NOBODY”

7. Yes Harry, hit those high notes!

8. *tries to do run like Harry* *fails miserably*

9. Ok “Perfect” is up next, let’s do this.

10. Harry is telling me that he’s perfect for me like I haven’t already had that clarified for years.

11. What’s that, Harry? I do like midnight driving with the windows down.

12. “Let’s start right now”… okay.

13. The next song is called “Infinity”? I hope that’s the length of the song.

14. I can’t believe people still say they are just bubblegum pop.

15. “YOU’RE THE ONE THAT I WANT AT THE END OF THE DAY!”

16. Louis with that high note though. Louis for the win.

17. How can it get better than this?

18. A PIANO BALLAD, OH MY GOD.

19. Harry – “I think I might give up everything, just ask me to.”

      Me – “OKAY, DO IT.”

20. I don’t know why I can hear Louis’ British accent while he’s singing, but I like it.

21. Oh my God, this harmony is unreal.

22. “Long Way Down” is next. Is this song about my GPA? Ha ha ha..

23. *starts stressing about life until I hear Niall*

24. Everything is fine. I’m fine.

25. “Never Enough” starts and I don’t know what these noises are but I like them.

26. “COME ON!”

27. THIS ALBUM IS SO GOOD.

28. Okay, the next song is called “Olivia.” That’s not my name, but it’s whatever.

29. This song belongs in a movie montage.

30. The only explanation I have for Harry’s voice is that he hates me.

31. “DON’T LET ME GOOOO” – Louis is slaying.

32. “What A Feeling” feels so old school. This is amazing.

33. Liam is simultaneously destroying all of his solos and me.

34. This is that song you listen to in the car when you’re looking out the window and pretending to be in a movie.

35. ANOTHER BALLAD. YES.

36. Who would have the nerve to walk out of Harry’s life? That’s what I want to know. And is that space still open? Because I can fill it.

37. ANOTHER HIGH NOTE FROM LOUIS. GET IT SON.

38. This sounds like an 80’s rock ballad – I am in love.

39. “I Want to Write You a Song”… okay, go for it.

40. This song is too cute.

41. Alright, the next song is called “History.” I don’t know if I’m ready for this.

42. Yeah, I wasn’t ready for this.

43. *cries again*

44. YES, LOUIS WITH THE BRIDGE.

45. This song sounds like “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story, and it’s making me emotional.

46. “WE CAN LIVE FOREVER!”… together?

47. I need the next song to not make me sad if that’s possible.

48. It’s all good, “Temporary Fix” is a total rock song.

49. How do they even think of some of the lyrics for these songs? I can barely write a clever tweet.

50. Back to feeling emotional. Thanks “Walking in the Wind.”

51. “Wolves” is next. Please be kind to me.

52. This beat is good – everything about this is good.

53. LAST SONG, NOOOOOOOO.

54. “WE’RE JUST SWIMMING ‘ROUND IN OUR GLASSES AND TALKING OUT OF OUR ASSES”

55. This song is an anthem. I feel it on a deep level.

56. I can’t believe this is the last song on the… NO, IT’S OVER.

57. Let’s listen to it again.
