Your college friends spend their time binge watching TV series on Netflix and look at you like
because you don’t have a Netflix account or they won’t let you use theirs.
But, there are plenty of alternatives to get your binge watching in.
1. Hulu
Although you need an account to watch some series, Hulu offers a large amount of free shows and movies. Some of my favorites are Scream Queens, Jane the Virgin, and Grey’s Anatomy
2. MTV
If you make an account, you get free access to all of MTV’s TV shows that are currently in season and seasons that have recently ended. Some of the most recent seasons to keep up with are Awkward, Finding Carter, and Teen Wolf
3. FX
By signing into your TV provider on FX, you are given access to all of their shows. A popular show on FX is the new season of American Horror Story Hotel.
4. Xfinity
If you use Xfinity as your TV provider, you can log in using your account and access TV shows and movies offered online to watch. Also, as a UNH student, the school provides free streaming on Xfinity on campus which plays both live TV and other shows on demand.
5. HBO
HBO provides a program called HBO Go which allows users to download TV series and movies with no additional cost. Some good shows to keep up with on HBO is Game of Thrones and True Blood.
Although non-Netflix users can’t access Netflix Originals like Orange is the New Black, there are many free alternatives. Most TV networks provide online streaming of their shows so if any of your favorite shows aren’t available on the sites listed, most can be found on the networks site.
