Emily Malkowski
Year: Junior
Major: Communication, with a minor in Sociology
Hometown: Williamsville, NY
Favorite place on campus: My inner white girl says the Starbucks in The Commons, but I also love the outdoor quad right outside of Harriman Hall, the building I work in on South Campus. The trees turn such gorgeous colors in the fall, which made the morning walks into work so nice!
Goal in life: I’ve always wanted to be able to make a difference in the world in any way that I can.
Inspirations: My mom has always been my number one role model! She amazes me in the way that she keeps such a genuinely positive outlook on life no matter what life throws at her.
In five years I see myself… In five years I would love to either be in graduate school pursuing a master’s degree in marketing/business, or living in a major city working in either sports marketing or the entertainment industry.
Favorite food: I’m gonna be lame…pizza = life.
Favorite Movie: Hitch
The best thing you have experienced from being at UB so far: The best thing I did for myself at UB was reach out to one of my professors, Dr. Feeley, in the fall semester of my sophomore year. I told him that I wanted to get more involved with the Communication Department, and he was able to provide me with a ton of connections and opportunities. He helped me through an independent study focused in marketing communication, and even got me the job that I have now!
Favorite song: Honestly it changes just about every day! Right now it’s Crash and Burn by Thomas Rhett.
Fun fact about you: I’ve actually acted/danced professionally in a few shows in Buffalo! I was into theatre all throughout high school and I’ve danced since I was little.
If you ever see Emily strolling around campus, make sure you say hi! :)
Stay tuned for the next Campus Cutie! It could be you ;)
