Meet this week’s Campus Celebrity: Zoë Davis! She is a senior here at Conn and is involved in many extracurricular activities. She studied abroad in Australia last fall and has an awesome party anthem song, so to get some great advice from a senior camel or to learn more about Australia and her experiences down under, keep reading!

Favorite place on campus? My own personal bathroom — I’m really proud of how I decorated it.
Favorite place off campus in the surrounding area? Clyde’s Cider Mill
What is your go-to Harris gourmet creation?
My friends actually make fun of how bland and boring my Harris meals are…but one side dish I would recommend is a piece of provolone cheese wrapped up in salami.
How has being the Housefellow of KB been so far?
Wonderful! It’s a big time commitment, but I have a great staff who make the job a lot easier. #KBistheplace2B
We heard that you traveled to Australia for Study Abroad last fall. Could you tell us a little bit about what you learn/liked/did while you were there?
I direct enrolled into a school in Queensland, which is the northeast state of Australia where the Great Barrier Reef is. I was fortunate enough to visit the Reef three times and it was just as amazing as I anticipated. Turns out, it’s true that a lot of animals there really can kill you (not sharks though), and most Australians don’t actually say “crikey.”
Do you have an embarrassing camel moment you would like to share?
Second semester my first year here, I had my first class in Fanning. I was walking along the main sidewalk, along the green, and began to go towards the main entrance, on the side of the building. As I walked through the beautiful line of trees and walked up the stairs, I realized this wasn’t an entrance at all. Completely embarrassed and confused, I turn around to see a group of students laughing and pointing to the sides of the building where the actual entrances are…I have been sure to not make that mistake again
We know it’s early but, any post grad plans yet?
Work, hopefully, either in ocean conservation or biomedical consulting, but no matter what there will be a lot of jump roping and hooping (Insert shameless plug for me and my roommates’ piece in Eclipse here, come see the show next semester!)
One more senior question, we promise, is there one thing you really want to check off your Conn bucket list before you graduate?
For the sake of job security, I’m going to leave this one blank…
Just kidding, one more! As a graduating senior, what advice would you give to underclassmen?
Go off campus, go to the Arbo, go to Mamacoke Island. Take advantage of the independent study and research opportunities available on campus. And if you have the time, take extra classes that are taught by an amazing professor and/or just interest you and are outside of your main focus of study.
Finally, how do you feel about being Campus Celebrity?
I’ve peaked, it’s only downhill from here.
