1. Catch up on your sleep! http://rewrite.origos.hu/s/img/i/1401/20140108ezo-hetvegi-horoszkop-januar-11121.jpg
You’ve been pulling all-nighters all week long, running on only caffeine and stress. Feel free to stay up late and sleep in even later. It’s vacation!
2. Read a good book – http://www.laurenwakefieldphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/summer-reading-list2(pp_w1002_h764).jpg
Even if you love to read, it’s probably hard to find the time when you have 5 other classes and tons of homework to worry about. Winter break is the perfect opportunity to finally start that new book you’ve been dying to read.
3. See the Christmas tree in NYC – http://www.caterbid.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Rockefeller-Center-NYC-Christmas-Tree-Lighting.jpg
The Christmas tree will be lit on December 2nd this year. Even though we will still be at school it will be lit all month long, so take the trip to Rockefeller Center and view this spectacular Christmas tradition.
4. Go Ice Skating
Check two things off your bucket list at once and go ice-skating at The Rink in Rockefeller Center, right next to the tree! Or go ice-skating with friends at your local ice skating rink!
5. ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas
If you haven’t been watching already, don’t miss the rest of these fabulous movies every night on ABC Family!
6. Finish a Netflix Series
There’s nothing better than curling up in your bed and binge-watching something on Netflix.
7. Have a family night
Pick something off of this list and bring your family along! Even if you totally love your freedom away at school, I can guarantee your family misses you like crazy. They would love to have a night where you guys could all catch up.
8. Make a holiday playlist
All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey, Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande and It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas By Michael Buble make my list every year!

9. Try every flavor of Swiss Miss hot chocolate
There is nothing like an adorable holiday mug filled with hot chocolate topped with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle and crushed up candy canes. YUM

10. Sit by a warm fire
Put on your fuzzy socks, add the hot chocolate and need I say more?
11. Donate to a family in need
Not everyone can be as fortunate as others during the holidays. I’m sure all of us have old books, clothes or maybe even some toys we haven’t looked at since we were 12. There are so many children out there that would appreciate these things that we don’t use anymore! Donating doesn’t need to be something material, even a donation of your time would be much appreciated. Try volunteering at a soup kitchen or donating some of your old toys to Toy for Tots this winter!
12. Get a job or an internship
As much as we all would love to abandon our responsibilities and curl up under our covers for a month, winter break is the perfect time to make a little money or gain some experience in our potential field of study. I promise you won’t regret having some extra spending money in your pocket when you return in the spring.
13. Go shopping
Whether it’s at the mall or online, I know I can never pass up buying a few new things to bring back with me next semester!

14. Check out the Christmas lights
Hop in the car with some friends and drive around the neighborhoods in your town to check out the beautifully lit up houses. Judge who has the best decorations!
15. Stay warm!
Stay warm and stay safe this winter!
