Perfecting the Gold Glittery Smokey Eye

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

New Years is over, but that’s no reason to put all the glitter and sequins away! A gold glittery smokey eye is perfect for a night out, a birthday party, or any other occasion. This look can be dressed up, or dressed down—so it’s extremely versatile. Below, you will find the steps to achieve this look. There is also a complete video with step by step instructions here!

1.) To begin, I’ve primed my face with the Kat Von D Featherweight Primer.

2.) Next, I’m applying the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation with a Sephora 56 Brush.

3.) Next, I’m using the Elf Bronzing and Blush Palette to add some definition. I’m using the Elf Kabuki Brush to quickly bring out my bone structure.

4.) After bronzing, I’m going to highlight my face using the Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Duo and the Elf Angled Contour Brush.

5.) I’m applying the Elf Smudge Pot Eyeshadow in Brownie Points over my eyelid.

6.) Using the Wet N Wild  Color Icon Glitter Single in Brass, I’m applying glitter over my eyelid.

7.) To create a winged shadow, I’m using an index card and applying the shade Crave from the Naked Basics Palette for the outer crease and the shade Venus for the highlight.

8.) For my top eyeliner, I’m using NYX Vinyl Liquid Liner and for my waterline, I using the Wet N Wild Megalast Liner in Black

9.) For my lashes, I’m prepping with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and then applying Ardell False Lashed

10.) To finish, I’m applying the Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in 902C.

And there you have it! A fun gold glittery smokey eye that is not only wearable, but completely cruelty free!!
