Dear people who do not respect a relationship status,
First of all, why? Call me old fashioned, actually, no, call me respectful, because I would never, ever think of ruining a relationship for my own personal gain. I am confused as to why some people think that two people being in a committed relationship is an open invitation for a third party to intrude upon it. Have you ever stopped to think that maybe those two people that you just broke up/are trying to break up love each other? Or, God forbid, what if they are happy together?
I can’t imagine that you would appreciate someone doing that to you. I promise, it hurts. And it’s the kind of hurt that you can sometimes forgive (depending on the circumstances), but never really forget. Even if you don’t succeed in breaking two people up, the motivation and determination behind actively trying to do so is enough to cause an immense amount of emotional and mental damage on all parties involved.
Let’s respect that whole “finders keepers” thing we all learned in preschool, okay? There are plenty of fish in the sea, so don’t drop your bait in my happy, loving, committed pond. Kthxbye.
