The world’s first hijab fashion account for Barbie is finally here and we are ~*oBsEsSiNg*~ over it!

After the recent news this past week about Barbie getting more body-realistic dolls, one Nigerian woman decided to start Barbie’s own hijab fashion Instagram account called @Hijarbie. Since the new Barbie dolls are wearing clothing that shows skin and legs, 24-year-old Haneefah Adam, the Instagram account creator, decided that it was time that Barbie appreciated the modesty of a Muslim woman. Go Haneefah!

Adam said in a recent interview with Buzzfeed that she makes all of the doll clothes herself and they are inspired by the every day look of the Muslim girl.

“Intially, I started it to provide an outlet for my own creativity,” she said to Buzzfeed. “My hope with this account is to create a positive awareness and impact.”

Adam’s goal for Hijarbie is for the fashion to represent the culture and respect the religion, as well as inspire the young Muslim girl.

“At the end of the day, it will create a sense of value and will be inspiring them to be more confident, more driven, to believe more in themselves which leads to an appreciation of herself and her modest lifestyle and upbringing,” she said.
