An Open Letter to the Beautiful Guy in my Class who Doesn’t Know my Name

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marist chapter.

Sweet Honey Baby,

You’re beautiful…and well, you might know it, but that’s okay; confidence can only make you more attractive in my eyes. You were in my Statistics class second semester freshman year and I haven’t stopped thinking about you since. At first, I thought you might be playing hard to get, but really, can’t you just let me catch you now? It’s been two years…

I see you walking around campus and I don’t smile at you because…well, I don’t want to be that schmuck whose smiling at someone she has never even spoken to. Like, hello? Creepy, much? But really, can we remedy that? I have a lot of fun things to say to you. I’m quite a catch, you know.

It’s not actually true, that I’ve never talked to you. I told you, “you have nice eyes,” once. You said, “thank you.” Very polite, but the response I was looking for was: “You’re beautiful. Let’s have dinner.” Or, “I agree, don’t you think we would have beautiful children?” Why, yes, yes I do. Let’s make that happen.

You’re somewhat of a celebrity to me, because seeing you is the highlight of my day. It immediately warrants a text message to my friend saying, “OMG JUST SAW MY HUSBAND!” I’m not a biddie, I promise, I just get really excited to see you.

You might feel that this letter makes me seem pathetic, or gives the impression that I’m coming on too strong. But darling, I just know we’d be great together, and I wish you’d go ahead and figure that out yourself.

I love you, future hubby.

Signed,

Every Girl on Any Campus Anywhere
