As college students, we know all too well that money doesn’t grow on trees. The majority have to budget our money and only splurge when it’s the holidays. It’s now that time of year again. Valentine’s Day is coming up quickly and college women who are in relationships don’t want to break the bank all because of a Hallmark holiday. Why not make him a gift yourself? It’s cheap, it’s cute, and it’s something that he may keep forever or just enjoy for the day. Here are a few great gift ideas for your man for this Valentine’s Day!
1. Candy Tackle Box
If you’re boyfriend likes to fish then this is the present for him. All you have to do is buy a plastic tackle box and some gummy candy. Fill the containers in the box with candy and write a cheesy saying on the box. This is a cute way to incorporate something that he loves into his gift.
2. 52 Reasons Why I Love You
This one is simple but it definitely will make your man smile. Buy a deck of cards and a binder ring. Hole punch each of the cards on the corner and put them all on the ring. On construction paper, write reasons why you love your significant other. You’ll need to write 52 reasons to fill up each card. Once you’re done, you’ll glue each reason onto a card. This is may be time consuming, but it is so worth it once you’re done.
3. Alcohol
If your boyfriend loves a good time, then this gift is for him. There are multiple ways of incorporating your man’s favorite drink into his gift. One example is to fill a Valentine’s Day heart-shaped box with mini bottles of his favorite drink. On the top of the box, you can write something along the lines of what the photo shown below. This idea is a great way to make him smile (and will make a great drink later).
4. The lottery
This cheesy gift idea can make him feel incredibly lucky. You can create a small basket or box and fill it with tissue paper. Then go and buy a few scratch-off lottery cards. Prop them up in the box and make it look festive (this Pinterest user used plastic hearts!). Finally, add a cute saying to the gift as shown in the picture. Not only is this gift inexpensive, but he also may win money and will love the thought you put into making it!
