5 Things to Do Over Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal State LA chapter.

It may be finals week but sometimes, you need a little bit of motivation to do good and pull through the most stressful week. There are a bunch of things to do from now to the end of March so here are 5 things to look forward once you finish finals (or you know, during, as a stress reliever)

1.Skyline 2016

If you like art, architecture, and finding things Skyline 2016 is perfect for you. Skyline is an art instillation scavenger hunt located in the heart of Downtown LA that thankfully is all within walking distance. Out of ten instillations, there will only be four open each night so if you have the chance, try to hit as many as you can!More Info: http://lerata.org/skyline-2016

2. Artists & Fleas

Mark your calendars and get ready for the coolest flea market happening in LA. For two days, there will be over 90 local artists, designers, vintage collectors, and food trucks taking over the Arts District.

3. Music for Train Stations

Inspired by Brian Eno’s 1978 instillation “Music for Airports”, Music for Train Stations is a three-night event where people are invited to come to Union Station and relax to a DJ set and live performance from six different artists.

4. Cat Art Show

If you like cats and art, I have good news for you. The Cat Art show is making its way back to Los Angeles. There will be over 70 globally-recognized artists showcasing their works that will be available for purchase. What’s even better is that a portion of the proceeds will go to Kitten Rescue.

Have time for a little drive? Why not take a relaxing hike at the Antelope Valley Poppy Reservation! Like the name, this 15-acre reservation is home to wildflowers and our state flower, the poppy. The best time to go visit this place is from late March to April so it’s perfect for spring break.

Christine Tran

Cal State LA

After taking four different MBTI tests, Christine is the definition of someone who is half ENFJ and ESFP (she got two for each type). With that being said, this clearly explains her major in Communications at Cal State LA. With a love for fashion and music, she's the type of person who will post #ootds and pictures of every concert she's at on her Instagram. Along with that, Christine has a horrible addiction with cupcakes and tattoos which will eventually be the death of her unless her parents figure out she already has more than one tattoo first.... Find out what she's up to by following her Instagram @christineetran
