How to Approach the Rest of Spring Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

We’re here. It’s official. Spring semester is already halfway over! These weeks flew by, but now’s the chance to take advantage of the remaining weeks and get ready for summer and the upcoming fall semester.

1. When it’s nice outside, take advantage of it as much as you can!
Thinking of those bitter cold winter days makes it even more tempting to skip a lecture or two every once in a while, but remember the beautiful weather will still be there 50 minutes later. Resist the temptations (but it’s okay to give in once) and finish the semester out strong. After class take a walk up to Nay Aug, or around town, just get outside and get active!

2.  Start thinking about summer plans!
Internships? Jobs? Graduate school touring? Vacation? Start looking into, or finalizing, your summer plans. Try and get as much experience in the career field you are looking into and set yourself up for success! This will allow you to get a feel of what your future might actually look like. Get this done now so you don’t have to think about it last minute around finals.

3. Come back from Spring Break with A LOT of energy!
Take advantage of those ten days off! Catch up on sleep, do a little work and return to the rest of the semester recharged and ready to go. Relax, have fun and clear your body from all of the stressors the first half of the semester gave you. Don’t forget to have fun! It’s break after all, take a day or two away from the books and go on an adventure with some friends.

4. If you’re a senior, make the most out of the rest of the semester!
I’m just a junior, but I can only imagine the overwhelming feeling that the seniors are feeling as graduation inches closer. Make the most of the rest of Scranton. Attend all of the on-campus events. Sing your heart out on Thursday nights at Kildare’s karaoke. Enjoy every last second of what you have left with your friends and Scranton family.

Straight from Central New Jersey, yes it does exist, Sarah is a senior biology major at the Univeristy of Scranton. When she's not studying, she enjoys rowing for the U, training for marathons that she forces herself to do, and having the college experience with her friends. Her favorite Starbucks drink is a venti iced coffee, black, because she likes to live dangerously. She's an owner of two goldfish whose names are Brandi and Bacardi, and she loves all things America.
