While breaks from school are much needed, and it’s nice to venture to warm, far-off places that aren’t the Midwest, there is nothing like coming home after a vacation. Iowa City is our home away from home, where our friends and our favorite places are.

As the end of spring break approaches, you’ll begin to miss the weather getting warmer and the grass getting greener on the Pentacrest. You’ll begin to miss seeing the Old Capitol’s gold dome shining against the blue sky. As the weather gets warmer and campus somehow gets even more beautiful, you’ll find yourself wistfully thinking about the buildings downtown, the sports teams, the friends, the roommates and the classes.

Because you know what they say: It’s always great to go home, but it’s even better to be back at your home away from home.
