On March 16th, I had the pleasure of attending Phi Sigma Sigma’s 2nd Annual SJU’s Best Dance Crew, a philanthropy event filled with dancing, food, and raffles. The sorority’s national philanthropy, the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, supports school and college readiness. The financial contributions from the event helped the foundation to continue encouraging leadership achievement, reward scholarships and educational grants, and support students with their education. Participants were asked to perform an original or favorite dance by themselves or with a group to compete for the title of “SJU’s Best Dance Crew”.
Dancing to Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake, Lambda was a favorite with ladies. Justin Timberlake is enough to win over the crowd, but the boys also incorporated roses like ABC sensation The Bachelor and proceeded to seduce the crowd as they took of their jackets. Another favorite of the night was Sig Ep with an interpretive dance.
The Phi Sig Ladies themselves stole everyone’s middle school hearts with a classic throwback, Hoedown Throwdown. If you were a fan of Hannah Montana, you probably knew every move to this catchy line dance song at some point. During intermission, Hawks on Pointe showed off their talents. Afterwards, AGD danced to the classic Cha Cha Slide and alluded to everyone’s wedding. Finally our very own SJU Dance Team took their performance off the courts and into the Perch. It was no surprise that they won the title of Saint Joseph’s Best Dance Crew!
The event was a huge success! Congratulations to all of the competitors and winners and thank you to Phi Sigma Sigma for a fun night!
HCXO,
Meg
